CUTE Club—

In Westlake High School, the student body is environmentally conscious and wants to do an active role of helping the Earth. We have a club called CUTE, which means Cleaning Up The Environment. Everyone recycles plastic bottles, cans and glass into blue bins and members of the CUTE club picks them up every Thursday. Then the members process them into three seperate groups, the plastics, cans and glass. They put them in a big crate and volunteers sends them to a place called Ecology Action.

Construction-

Even though us Austin people love our nature, there are constructions taking place to help expand our population and transportation system. Construction workers are expanding roads so that there would be less traffic. Also, many houses are being developed.

Contributing to Clean Air-

Austin is proud to say that we do our best to keep our air as clean as possible with little pollution. There's a program called the River Cities Rideshare program which is dedicated to help commuters automobile dependency by providing carpool and vanpool matches, pedestrian and biking information and public transportation opportunities. With this program, people can stop polluting and start contributing.
